IF YOU ARE BEING SEXUALLY HARASSED AT WORK, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SAY “NO!”  YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE FREE FROM ALL SEXUAL COMMENTS, TOUCHING AND OTHER SEXUAL ACTS, AND YOUR EMPLOYER CANNOT FIRE YOU, RETALIATE AGAINST YOU, OR DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU…YOU HAVE PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW!

Recently, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) sued an employer, Focus Plumbing, LLC, on behalf of a group of scared female employees who only spoke Spanish , and whose co-workers and supervisors constantly sexually harassed them by unwanted touching/groping, sexual advances, sexually offensive comments/requests, and threats against them if they did not allow the sexual harassment or complained about the sexual harassment. Eventually, one of the female employees complained to the EEOC, and the EEOC sued Focus Plumbing for them. As a result of the lawsuit against Focus Plumbing by the EEOC, Focus Plumbing paid $500,000 to the employees to settle the case, plus Focus Plumbing will be monitored by an independent company to make sure that sexual harassment does not happen again and that nobody is retaliated against.

This kind of workplace harassment violates Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act (“Title VII”), which protects workers from unwanted sexual demands, comments, touching, or other sexual acts. You have rights.
